A Trip to the Zoo!

We had a scheduled power outage ALL day so we had to get out of the house. We decided to go on a "surprise ride" (a destination unknown to the boys) to the zoo! Ethan and Jackson were pretty pumped. We saw all of the animals, but I only posted pictures of the boys. I mean we've all seen a giraffe before, right?

The newly painted Okinawa Zoo water tower.

We have a picture of him doing this for 2007, 2008, and now 2009.

The boys' favorite part of the zoo...feeding the nasty carp.

Jackson was pretty excited to see the fish.

Then he got mad at me because I made him wear his hat.

And More Zoo...

They all kind of look related.

Ethan was very gentle with the petting zoo animals. The little guinea pigs were so scared.

Jackson thought the zoo was okay for awhile, but he's still got a stomach bug bothering him. We even had to pull over on our way to the zoo because Jackson threw up.

When we first moved here, we had to ride this ride with Ethan...now he can put the money in and drive the cars by himself.

Train ride! Choo! Choo!

BIG Boys

It's been a BIG week for the Goldhahn boys.

Jackson had his one year checkup on the 27th. He is 30 lbs. and almost 32 in. Easily in the 100th% for each, but he is proportionate and slimming down. He's only gained inches in the last two months. Besides being measured, he also got five shots. Ouch! He's not handling them well...fever, diarrhea, and vomiting. Boo.

We finally got the training wheels on Ethan's new bike so now he's riding it like a champ.

Watch'ya looking at?

Probably checking out his silly big brother!

New Wheels

Ethan has quickly outgrown his 12" Lightning McQueen bike so today we upgraded to a 16" Mongoose bike. Ethan still needs training wheels, but until we buy bigger training wheels, he's motivated to learn to ride without them. Go Ethan!!
Practicing without training wheels.

He's so excited, and he looks so grown up.

Daddy showing off...I mean testing to make sure the bike is in good condition.

Jackson and I played catch while the big boys were riding bikes.

Blueberry Banana Smoothies

We had some delicious blueberry banana smoothies today as is evident on the boys' faces. I'll keep posting over this long Memorial Day weekend....

I just needed to give my hubby props. Jackson was totally exhausting his Mommy so Daddy volunteered to mow the whole lawn with Jackson on his back...that's about 40 lbs. total. What a guy!!

A Sandy Day

The boys and I enjoyed a nice afternoon at the beach. It's either the beach or the park so we opted for the beach today. We also needed to load up on sand for our new sandbox!!

Jackson didn't let a little sand slow him down from eating his snack (hence the sand all over his mouth).

Digging for buried treasure?

Digging away.

Sitting in his sand chair. Ethan could spend all day at the beach so it's a good thing we got...

...a free sandbox! I love PCS season (people leave things on the curb as they get ready to move back to the States).

Birthday Boy

Hard to believe that our big guy is already one. The year flew by. We had a fun day opening presents, playing with toys, and eating cake. He obviously didn't know what was going on, but he was pumped because we were pumped.

Good morning birthday boy who sleeps through the night!!

It looks like he's thinking, "Mom, why are you so excited this morning and taking pictures of me in my bed? Just pick me up already."

Balloons!! Jackson saw all of them and screamed, "Ball! Ball! Ball!"

Birthday Boy!! That's the best shot I could get of his pin.

Trying to figure out present opening...Mommy, Ethan, and Spine are here to help!

Get it out of the box!!

I love opening presents!

Riding his new zebra.

Thank you for including gifts for Ethan. There were definitily some jealousy issues, but over all, he was excited for Jackson.

What do you want me to do with it?

How about demolish and eat it?!?!

Delicious!

I'm all caked out now.

And the party comes to an end. We forgot we bought party hats so we pulled them out when Jackson was napping.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKSON!!

Happy 1st Birthday Jackson!!

Kitchen Cuties

Here are some cute shots of the boys helping me out in the kitchen. When I say "helping," I mean looking cute in the kitchen while I'm cooking and cleaning. The pictures of Jackson are blurry because I had to take them from a distance. If I get too close to him, he freaks out and demands to be carried.

Ethan "making banana bread."

This door is hilarious.

Good thing he's cute because he's a monster!

This morning I asked Ethan to get his shoes out of his closet for school. He came downstairs wearing authentic Swedish clogs. Unfortunately I made him change because he falls when he wears them. It's too bad, he probably would have been fighting off all of the girls with those sweet shoes!
