Happy Easter 2011

The Easter Bunny came and left lots of goodies. We had a fun Easter egg hunt in the lightning and down-pouring rain. The things we do for candy! Both boys had a lot of fun, and their baskets have been entertaining them all day. We also celebrated Jesus' resurrection with our church family. It's STILL lightning, thundering, and raining outside so we'll just cuddle up together and enjoy Easter inside. HAPPY EASTER!!

The Easter bunny came, and he was overly generous...as usual.

Sweet shades from the EB.

Jackson had on his game face to get more eggs than his brother AND avoid getting struck by lightning.

Ethan couldn't contain his excitement when he found the biggest Easter egg ever.

Two handsome boys in their church clothes. As soon as church was over, these clothes were off and the comfy stuff was back on.

Once again, Happy Easter, from The Goldhahns.

Egg-celent Egg Dyeing

The weekend is off to a fun start. Today we dyed eggs, and then we spent the afternoon hiding and finding eggs. We want to be ready for the Easter bunny tomorrow!! We also had an exciting U6 soccer game, a pizza buffet, laundry, and three hour naps. AND there's still a whole other day left of this weekend. I'll try to post more pictures tomorrow as we celebrate Jesus' resurrection. What a cool dude.

Let the egg-dyeing festivities begin!!

A Jackson Goldhahn original Easter egg.

A whole family of eggs. We're having egg salad sandwiches for lunch tomorrow.

Stinkin' Ice Cream Truck

After a tornado-scare earlier this week, we were blessed with another weekend full of beautiful weather. Andy had to go to work for a couple of hours on Saturday to check in some reservists (oh the joy of I&I duty!) so the boys and I headed out to Neihus Park. Of course the ice cream truck had to come while we were there. I don't care how firm my rules are about "no snacks before supper;" no parent can say no to the ice cream truck, especially when ALL the other children at the park are getting ice cream. We've passed the stage of bringing a diaper bag anywhere so after the ice cream, we had two sticky boys, and no baby wipes (or sinks) in sight so we headed home for baths...and a supper that wasn't eaten.

Yummy, a fudge bar. Kid after my own heart.

Jackson's face matched his ice cream bar perfectly.

All clean! Bubble beards are much better than ice cream beards.

Lovely Weather We're Having

Andy was in Kansas City this week, but we picked him up on Friday and all is back to normal. The temperatures have been beautiful, and once again, we've been hitting up lots of parks.

Other happenings this week: Ethan had a soccer game, Jackson didn't cry when Mommy dropped him off at daycare, and...we made an offer on a house, and it was accepted! More news and pictures on that to come!

Hiding in their "house."

Happy Spring!

Spring has Sprung!

GONE are the days of layering clothes for soccer games.....

GONE are the days of watching the soccer games from inside the heated car....

Because Spring is HERE!! We played outside all weekend! There was soccer at the park.....

And tons of fun!

The week started out cool, but it warmed up to the 80's this weekend, and we took advantage of the warm temperature. Unfortunately Andy had drill this weekend so it was mostly just Mommy and the boys. We hit up two parks, enjoyed Ethan's soccer game, looked at some houses, took a long walk/stroller ride/bike ride, and did the weekly shopping and chores. Andy leaves tomorrow for a week-long conference in Kansas City. After him being gone all of last year, a week away is easy-peasy!
