New Toys!

Very rarely do Andy and I splurge on ourselves. Our children are spoiled rotten, but we do a good job of living simply. We decided we were due for some new toys. First, Andy splurged on a fancy new grill since our other grill was left on the curb in Okinawa. He has christened it with chicken, steaks, and bratwursts. Definitely a wise investment because it also keeps me out of the kitchen several days a week. Second, after a month of sharing one vehicle, we decided it was time for me to have my own car. Yesterday we bought a 2004 Honda CR-V. The big kicker: it only has 37,000 miles! I heart it.

Puddles + Legos = Fun, Fun, & More Fun

What happens when you have a record-breaking blizzard, and then you have record-breaking heat two weeks later? Puddles...big puddles. The puddle in front of our house has provided hours of entertainment. When we're not running, biking, or scootering through puddles, we're playing with Legos...lots and lots of Legos. So far Broken Arrow is suiting us well.

...I find it hilarious that my kids leave their helmets on the entire time they're playing outside...even when they aren't on their bikes or scooters. Safety first!

The Incredible Pizza Company

After another morning of being trapped indoors and not having school, we decided to venture out to The Incredible Pizza Company. Incredible it was! We played lots of games, won prizes, rode rides, and ate way too much food-so much food that Andy and I have decided to limit the incredible-ness to only twice a year. Enjoy the photos!

Only the big boys got to do the bumper cars, but the whole family got to ride the go karts. Thank goodness because Jack-Jack does not like being left out or being told he's too little to do something.

Snow-klahoma

After four snow-free winters, the Goldhahns are getting womped with snow (is "womped" a word?). Last week we experienced a record-breaking blizzard for the Tulsa-area. Tonight we're supposed to get 10 more inches. Ethan hasn't had school since last Monday because the South doesn't know how to clean up so much snow. After living in Montana, South Dakota, and Maine, we are used to the snow, but we are not used to the poor clean up effort. It's supposed to be close to 60 next week so hopefully Ethan will get to go to school again. At least we're getting in a lot of sledding and snowman building!

Goodbye Okinawa, Hello Oklahoma!

I apologize for the lack of pictures lately. Between finding a place to live, getting Ethan in school, and adjusting to the time change, there's been very little time for pictures. I haven't even taken a picture of our new house. Here are a few pictures I've taken over the last week as we moved from Okinawa to Oklahoma.

Praise the Lord! My mom spent almost a week with us. This is a picture of her with the boys at the Tulsa Zoo (which we are now members of).

Today was Ethan's first day at his new school. His first day happened to fall on the 100th day of kindergarten, and the assignment was to bring in a "100 collage." Ethan counted out 100 nails, and then he, Andy, and I alternated pounding the nails into the wood (Andy did 97% of the hammering).

Ethan's second day of school has been cancelled due to a snow day. We're supposed to get a blizzard tonight and over a foot of snow. Bring it on!

Oklahoma!

We are here! The flights were long, but none were delayed, and for that we are grateful. We got to see Spine at three of the four stops to make sure he was okay. He survived the flights just fine, but he was VERY angry with us. He's feeling better now that we've been here for 48 hours. In those 48 hours we've managed to find a very cute rental house, turn on all of our utilities, register Ethan for school (he could start tomorrow, but we're giving him until Monday to get over his jet-lag), and we got Oklahoma driver's licenses and vehicle registration. It's been a busy 48 hours, but we are so glad to get those things done. We are still in a hotel until Feb. 1, and thankfully, my mom will be here until the Jan. 29.
