The Great Outdoors

Last week, the whole fam-bam hiked Roughlock Falls in Spearfish Canyon. I hadn't been there since college, and it is still breathtaking.

I'm back in OK, but the kids are spending the month in SoDak and have already climbed Harney Peak, the highest point in the state. Looks like we have quite the outdoorsmen.

After the hike, we explored the Bullock Hotel in Deadwood. It's haunted!

My little campers.

Quite the view from Harney Peak.

They made it!

The boys with Papa at the top.

Visiting the burros in Custer State Park.

Can't wait to see what other adventures these yahoos have!

Fourth Festivities

I love, love, LOVE the 4th of July in my hometown. There's a reason Belle Fourche, SD was ranked the #11 place in the whole USA to celebrate this holiday. It's been great partaking in all the festivities and seeing family and friends.

Waiting for the parade to start.

Carnival rides!

Loving every minute!

Happy Birthday USA!

Watiki!

The boys and I have made it to SoDak for the annual July 4th festivities! The first thing on our list was spending the day at Watiki Waterpark. They were so excited to be there.

Gosh they are getting big.

What a difference a year makes. Both boys were completely independent to ride all the slides by themselves. Luckily for me, they still want to hang with their mama so I got plenty of sliding in too!

Take a Little Dip

This year we splurged and got a membership at Forest Ridge pool. Money well spent! We literally go everyday. So far summer is off to a great start.

Another bonus: It's never crowded!

Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto

Ethan just finished up an awesome week at Robot Camp! It was a great outlet for our future engineer and/or inventor (he just can't decide which one he wants to be when he grows up).

The master at work.

Teaching his brother how to make a robot (poor Jackson was too young for this camp, and it was TORTURE).

He made a helicopter, hovercraft, and battle bots, but this was his "robot from scratch."

Next up, Vacation Bible School, and then soccer camp for Jackson.

Super Kids

School's out for Summer!

On the last day of school we celebrated with Super Kids Day! I had so much fun with both boys and all their buddies. The school had bounce houses, obstacle courses, horse races, sumo races, and most importantly, Popsicles.

We ended the day going to a Tulsa Drillers baseball game and fireworks show with our friends. Drillers won 7-1! It was a great kick off to our summer!

Jack and his buddies enjoying Popsicles.

These kindergarteners won tug-of-war. It must be because they are FIRST GRADERS now!

Jackson's bestest friend, Jackson.

Sack race!

Sumo wrestling. Ethan won!

We were blessed with AMAZING teachers. Thank you Mrs. Wood!

You can bet I'll be requesting Mrs. Hoffman for Jackson when he gets to third grade. LOVE her.

Drillers game! ⚾️

So Proud

Today was Ethan's 3rd grade assembly. We were proud to watch him be honored for the Principals Honor Roll due to having straight A's all year. He then ended the assembly by winning the award for Outstanding Music Student of the Year.

Overflowing with pride!

Good job Bubs!
